THE AUTHOR IN A SINGLE PAGE

Roberto Leon Ponczek began his career as Assistant Professor of Physics in PUC-RJ, and holds a PhD in Education by the UFBA. He won a public contest for Assistant Professor in UFRJ, and now he is Adjoint Professor in UFBA. Research group leader of the History and Philosophy contributions to Physics Teaching of CNPQ and member of the research groups Benedictus Spinoza and Philosophy of the XVII century in Anpof. Continuing his active carrier as a Visiting Professor in Physics Department of UEFS, where he teaches Fundamentals of Physics. Prof. Ponczek has several papers published in this area, as well as on the Philosophy of Spinoza, and several participations in meetings and congresses of Philosophy of Science and Education. He wrote a comprehensive chapter on the History of Mechanics published in 2002, by UFBA editorship. During 12 years, he was classical music writer in the A Tarde newspaper, having written about 500 articles and musical historical reviews. He is an educator with a multifaceted view on Science, Arts and Philosophy. Now he is building a Pedagogy of Science inspired by the Philosophy of Spinoza.
